Calculators

Print cost

Filament, electricity, depreciation, maintenance and labor for one print, with cost per gram and a selling price.

Failed print cost

Price one failure and see how your failure rate inflates the cost of every good part.

Wet filament checklist

Symptoms to a moisture verdict, with drying temperatures and times by material.

Multi-color waste

Grams, cost and time lost to flushing and purge towers on multi-color prints.

Filament cost

Spool price to cost per gram, per meter and per print, with spools compared per kg.

Power supply

PSU watts and amps for a 12 V or 24 V printer, with headroom and wire gauge.

Printer payback

Prints and months until a 3D printer pays for itself, by saving or by selling.

STL cost

Filament weight and cost from an STL file, read in your browser, with walls and infill.

Filament dryer power

kWh and cost per drying run and per spool, with maker ratings for common dryers.

Print time

How long a print takes from an STL or slicer grams, layer height and your printer's flow rate.

Resin print cost

Resin, IPA, release film and screen wear for one resin print, with price per mL, liter and kg.

Heater resistance

Ohms, watts and amps for 12 V and 24 V heater cartridges and heated beds.

Print weight

Grams and meters of filament for a part, from an STL, its volume or its box size.

Filament remaining

Weigh a spool, get grams and meters left, with empty spool weights by brand.

G-code time estimator

Time a .gcode file move by move with acceleration and cornering, next to the slicer's figure.

Print farm

Startup cost, circuits, monthly power and output, and how many printers a target needs.

Print pricing

The price to charge on Etsy, eBay or your own store so fees, postage and your time are all covered.

E-steps

New extruder steps per mm from a 100 mm test, with the M92 command to set it.

Klipper rotation distance

rotation_distance from e-steps, belts, lead screws or an extruder, with the printer.cfg lines.

Flow rate

New flow ratio from a measured wall or the OrcaSlicer test blocks.

Volumetric flow

Print speed to mm³/s and back, against cited slicer and hotend limits.

Stepper Vref

The Vref to set on an A4988, DRV8825 or TMC2209, or the current a measured Vref gives.

Belt tension

GT2 belt pluck frequency to newtons and back, with Voron and Prusa targets.

Scale

The slicer percentage for an exact size, 1:X to 1:Y kit conversions and real-world sizes at scale.

Miniature scale

Rescale minis between 28mm, 32mm and other scales, and turn mm scales into 1:X ratios.

Enclosure fan

Exhaust CFM to keep an enclosure below a temperature, or to change its air a set number of times an hour.

3D print tolerance

Hole and pin sizes to model for every kind of fit, per side and total, in mm and inches.

Screw hole size

Clearance, self-tapping pilot and tap drill holes for metric and US screws.

Thread size and clearance

Metric thread diameters for a printed bolt or nut, with clearance, thread height and tap drill.

Steps per mm

X, Y and Z steps per mm from belts, lead screws or a measured move, with M92 and rotation_distance.

Skew correction

XY, XZ or YZ skew factor from a test square, for Marlin M852 and Klipper SET_SKEW.

Hole compensation

Measured test hole to the XY hole offset for OrcaSlicer, Bambu Studio, Cura, PrusaSlicer and SuperSlicer.

Layer height

Layer height range for your nozzle, full-step Z heights and a first layer height.

Line width

Extrusion width, cross-section, line spacing and wall thickness for any nozzle and slicer.

3D print gear

Spur gear diameters and center distance from module and tooth count, with backlash for printing.

Acceleration

Distance and time to reach full speed, and the peak and average speed a move of any length really reaches.

Z offset

Save a babystep or adjust for a new plate, with the right sign for your firmware or slicer.

Bed leveling screws

Turns and minutes per screw from probe or feeler-gauge readings, as SCREWS_TILT_CALCULATE and G35 do it.

Bed mesh visualizer

Paste a Klipper or Marlin mesh: heatmap, range, tilt and the shape left after leveling.

Timing belt length

GT2, HTD, T and MXL/XL belt length for two pulleys, or the center distance for a belt.

Calculators last revised

The formula sits under every tool

A number is only useful if you can check it. Each calculator explains exactly how it gets from your inputs to the answer.

  • The formula, written out
  • Every input and its unit
  • Material-specific defaults
  • A worked example
  • Shareable pre-filled links

Share the answer, not a screenshot

Your inputs live in the page URL, so a link opens the calculator already filled in. Paste it into a forum thread and the math travels with it.

Built to be bookmarked

Small tools that do one job well and get out of the way.

Fast

Static pages that load instantly and calculate in your browser as you type.

Free, no ads

No accounts, no paywall, no ad slots pushing the answer below the fold.

Checkable

Sources for material data and defaults are cited, so you can verify the inputs too.

FAQ

Common questions about how the calculators work

Are the calculators free?
Yes. Every calculator is free to use, needs no account and carries no ads.
How accurate are the results?
Each result is only as good as its inputs. The formula and the default values are shown under every tool, so you can check the math and swap in your own numbers.
Where do the default material values come from?
Defaults such as filament density come from published manufacturer data sheets and are cited on the calculator page. Override any of them with your own measurements.
Can I share a filled-in calculator?
Yes. Your inputs are stored in the page URL, so copying the link shares the calculator with every value already filled in.
Is my data stored anywhere?
No. Calculations run in your browser and nothing you type is sent to a server.
